The first half of the book is so rough. Clearly, Meljean Brook has a lot to cover here… not only in the very long running relationship between Hugh and Lillith, but in this vast world of Angfl and Demons. Even after this being my third re-read, I still felt the sparks and melted at their words.
I’m a big fan of two of Meljean Brook’s steam punk books that I’ve read, however this book was excruciatingly slow and long.
Hugh holds back from his feelings for vague reasons. I want to read his story, there has to be so much there. I did like the characters of Savi and Colin; they are much more interesting personalities than Lilith and Hugh.
